Our Little Church with a Big Future campaign is designed to involve each

of us in a focused time of inspiration and personal reflection on what being a part of the

Little Church family means to each of us, and the ways we feel called to serve and

give through our church.

Over the course of this fall, we will have opportunities to engage in Bible Study, informational and fellowship events as each of us discerns how we seek to commit to the future strength of our church through our financial support of our campus redevelopment project.

In worship services on Sunday, December 7th, we will be invited to make a special 3-year financial pledge, over and above our regular giving, to our capital campaign. The gifts received from our campaign will be used to complete the initial phases of our building redevelopment, strengthening our congregation now and into the future.

Our campaign redevelopment project is intended to rebuild our church facilities over several phases so that we will have stronger, more serviceable buildings in which to worship, share fellowship, serve and welcome others for years to come so that “a people not yet created may praise the Lord.” (Psalm 102:18b)

The initial phases focus on constructing a new building for fellowship and church and community group gatherings, with the hopeful addition of space for worship. During Phase I, the education wing/McCormick hall will be replaced with parking.

The extent to which we will build will be determined by our Session once we know the financial outcome of our campaign.

The session has been praying and listening for God’s direction and guidance for the past four years. We have also had multiple gatherings and fireside chats with the congregation to hear what is most important for our future facility needs. Having taken all those things into account, we have been working with the architect to come up with the plans that will best meet our needs for the future.

The estimated cost to complete the initial phases of redevelopment (Phases I and II)

is $5 million.

The cost of remodeling is far more expensive. If a remodeling project were to take place, we would first have to bring the existing building up to 2025 codes.

We will do our best to relocate the organ to the new worship center.

We have explored multiple financing options, including loans. However, we have concluded that the added burden for payment on the loans will be too burdensome for the Little Church.

The general contractor has informed us that the timeline for the first phase will be nine to twelve months.

Commitment Sunday is December 7th. Leading up to Commitment Sunday (September through early December), there will be regular publications and communications to keep you informed, as well as a variety of activities, including:

- Opportunities for Bible Study September 28, October 5, and October 19;

- Small-group informational meetings October 5 through November 6;

- A Day of Prayer – Saturday, November 8;

- an Advance Commitments Event (for those interested in making early, inspirational commitments) on Saturday, November 22; and,

- an All-Church Celebration Dinner on Friday, December 5.
